Establishment Of A Training Center And Completion Of A Multi Purpose Community Centre
The contract comprised the alterations, refurbishment, upgrades and construction of new works for the Establishment Of A Training Centre in Standerton. It also comprised of the demolition of an existing community hall in Morgenzon and the construction of a new hall approximately 170m2 which included fencing.
The proposed works for the MPCC consisted of the following:
- Foundation excavations for conventional foundations (700mm x230mm).
- Casting of 25Mpa concrete for foundations and reinforced surface bed slabs.
- Construction of 220mm thick foundation brickwork comprising of cement common bricks.
- Superstructure brickwork consisting of a combination of 110mm and 220mm thick walls using Corobrick Golden Wheat Travertine face bricks.
- Installation of aluminium windows of various sizes and doors.
- Installation of Structural steel roof finished with 0,6mm Chromadek sheeting and the installation of rainwater goods.
- Installation of plumbing and sanitary fittings for the ablution and the fire station.
- Installation of water fittings, connection into the main line and provision of storage facilities in the form of an elevated 10 000l elevated tank.
- Provision of an electrical connection by Eskom.
- Provision of fire fighting equipment within the fire station.
- Construction of 3,9m surfaced roads and parking facilities for the fire station which consists of two imported road layers for the base and sub base finished with a 60mm Heavy Duty block pavers (Interlocking type).
- Installation of precast concrete palisade fencing with pedestrian and vehicular gates. Landscaping and ancillary grassing of the site.
