Replacement Of AC In Silobela

The proposed infrastructure consisted of replacement of AC Pipes water infrastructure for Silobela Ext.1 to 4 and Carolina. This was done to alleviate high water losses, high and low pressure systems within the system and minimize illegal connections. This project is also envisaged to provide a safe, reliable and efficient supply of high quality potable water which meets guidelines in terms SANS 241.

The proposed works for the bulk infrastructure consisted of the following:

  • 1200m of 300mmØ mPVC pipes Class 12
  • 600m of 250mmØ mPVC pipes Class 12
  • 90m of 200mmØ mPVC pipes Class 12
  • 800m of 200mmØ Ductile Iron Pipe for Proposed Pipe Bridge
  • 1200m of 160mmØ mPVC pipes Class 12
  • 2200m of 110mmØ mPVC pipes Class 12
  • Flanged Gate Valves
  • Bulk Water Meters
  • Air and Scour Valves
  • Pipe Jacking across SAR line

The proposed works for the reticulation networks consisted of the following:

  • 5500m of 110mmØ mPVC pipes Class 12
  • 2500m of 750mmØ mPVC/HDPE pipes Class 9/Class 10
  • Flanged Gate Valves
  • Bulk Water Meters
  • Air and Scour Valves
