The contract comprises upgrading approximately 1km of gravel road to surfaced standards within the formal township of Breyten situated approximately 32km North East of Ermelo.

The proposed works for the project consisted of the following:

• The surfacing of approximately 5000m² roadworks, using a 60mm HDZZ (Heavy Duty) Paver.
• Construction of 125mm G2 base layer compacted to 98% modified AASHTO density
• Construction of 125mm G5 sub base layer compacted to 95% modified AASHTO density
• Roadbed preparations/subgrade improvements
• Installation of mountable and barrier kerbing and channelling
• Construction of longitudinal surfaced concrete/earth lines drains
• Construction of cross drainage (sub surface) for stormwater drainage and associated works
• Ducting and appurtenant works
• Relocation of affected services
