The Balfour Wastewater Treatment Works earns recognition as the distinguished project recipient of the 2022 CESA Commendation Award.

Nathoo Mbenyane Engineers proudly presents the Balfour Wastewater Treatment Works Upgrade (Phases 2 and 3) project as appointed by the Gert Sibande District Municipality. Situated northwest of Balfour within Dipaleseng Local Municipality, this initiative addresses increased effluent volumes and serves Balfour town, Siyathemba township, and a local abattoir. The upgrade enhances capacity from 4Mℓ to 12Mℓ, accommodating future growth with a 20-year horizon (2038). Managing fluctuating organic loads, this project defines processes and components for optimal treatment.
